      The main difference between mechanical and chemical recycling processes for producing recycled polyester (rPET) yarn lies in the way the waste plastic is treated.

The process involves minimal chemical intervention and simply relies on physical processes to transform the waste material into a new product. This means that mechanical recycling has relatively low energy requirements and generates less pollution than chemical recycling.

      On the other hand, chemical recycling uses more complex processes to break down the plastic waste chemically into its basic building blocks, such as monomers or oligomers, which can then be used to create new polymers.
